The A. Family

Hugs and fun! Lumpy, M. and Daughter.

Lumpy and M, 11 years after their last mutual sighting.

You gotta love this one!

The A Family. Cute as buttons. Can't buy longtime friends with money! There's just love!

Don't even think about comparing them to the Adams family! They're too cute for that.
I went to the A's house during my one week break between summer session and fall semester, which started yesterday.
It was an hour long haul to their home, but once there, I promptly forgot that any major metropolitan area was in driving distance.
It was great to reconnect with M. and D., whom I haven't seen in over 10 years. That's way too long for people I consider friends.
Their three kids are cute, respectful, and full of energy!
Does it make this still single thirty-something want to bear her own? Ummm... Jury's still out on that one!
M. and I talked about three or so hours about everything... Marriage, house additions, my fibroids, surgery, broken engagement, her husband D's still new pastoral ministry/career. Funny thing is that M. never meant to marry a pastor. When he was considering the idea while they were in undergraduate school, she informed him that was not in her plan, and if it was in his, they should just end the relationship and move on.
They didn't.
And she didn't marry a pastor.
But she acquired a one who already happened be her husband.

Providence spoke, changes were made, and M. didn't put up a fuss when D. told her about five years ago he believed he was inspired to enter the ministry.
"So when are we moving," said M.
And the rest is history.
